Melissa officinalis/Lemon Balm Extract/Rosmarinic Acid

Botanical Name: Melissa officinalis (a member of the mint family)

Common Names: Balm, Balm Mint, Bee Balm, Blue Balm, Cure-all, Honey Plant, Melissa, Melisse, Scholars Herb, Sweet Balm

Active ingredient: Rosmarinic acid 3%-5% by HPLC, a powerful antioxidant
Function:
Antidepressant, antispasmodic, antiviral, carminative, diaphoretic, emmenagogue, febrifuge, hypotensive, nervine, sedative.

It helps to reduce excessive blood pressure. It has a calming and regulation effect on the menstrual cycle and is often prescribed for the ease of menstrual cramps and alleviation of scanty menstruation. It is also used as a calmative for many digestion difficulties, including flatulence. It has good antiviral and anti-histamine properties.

Recent stuies have also confirmed the age old belief that Lemon Balm can help mental function and memory.

It used to help treating insomnia, palpitation, anxiety, menopause hot flashes; Migraines, hypertension, over-active thyroid; Eczema, fevers, sore throat and etc.
